Curious about Google Base, I added an item today. I created a new item type, “podcasts,” then set a link to For Immediate Release. Within an hour, it showed up in a search of the keywords I’d created. You can add an image, so I included the square FIR logo as an afterthought and got a notice that it would be available in 15-60 minutes. (Based on my Google Analytics experience, that could be 15-60 minutes in real time or Google time, which could be a couple days; we’ll see.) Next, I’d like Google to let me put multimedia files into the database—like the full podcast MP3 files. That’d solve my bandwidth problems!
