A long 12 hours
I subscribed to Google Analytics on Monday morning around 7 a.m. The site told me, “Analytics has been successfully installed and data is being gathered now. Your first reports will be ready within twelve hours.” It’s now Tuesday at 2:20 p.m. The site says, “Analytics has been successfully installed and data is being gathered now. Your first reports will be ready within twelve hours.” Man, that’s a long 12 hours. The application, even in beta, was clearly not ready for public release. If Microsoft had done this, there would be hellfire spewing throughout the blogosphere, but Google just doesn’t seem to inspire the same kind of reaction, even when they deserve it.
UPDATE—It took more like 48 hours, but the Analytics are finally working. Since Google lanched its public database today, it’s a good thing they don’t have their hands full getting Analytics working.
