Why isn’t P.W. Fenton rich and famous?
Apropos of absolutely nothing, I found myself wondering yesterday, while listening to Digital Flotsam, why P.W. Fenton isn’t rich and famous. If you’ve never listened to Digital Flotsam, it represents—to me, at least—the epitome of podcasting’s potential. With a great voice, Fenton recounts tales from his past (youth in NYC, wannabe Broadway actor, Tampa cop) told with some of the most brilliant audio engineering you’ll ever hear. PeeDub, as he’s known in PodShow circles (he’s a full-time employee of the Adam Curry-Ron Bloom podcast startup), can make you laugh out loud and get choked up. NPR should be so lucky as to have segments as rich and entertaining and professionally produced as those Fenton sends us for free via podcasting channels. If you’re not listening, start. Really; I mean it. Right now. You won’t be sorry.
