Podcaster lunch
Posting to the blog has been a challenge this week, what with long days on the road with a client and preparatory work in the evenings. Even today, Saturday, I’ve been in a hotel room catching up on other work before tomorrow’s first of two days of crayon meetings. But Neville (second from left) and I were able to take time out for lunch with a couple New York podcasters. I’ve known Rob Safuto (right) for a couple years now, ever since I first stumbled on PodcastNYC. Rob is now handling marketing for RawVoice, Todd Cochrane’s podcasting company and the company behind Blubrry; he’s also started a consulting business focused on social media, RawVoice. Rob has a number of podcasts.
Rob brought Dave Rimington (third from left) with him. Dave is president of the Boomer Esiason Foundation, which focuses on Cystic Fibrosis. The foundation is the founder and host for Jerry Cahill’s CF Podcast.
Our conversation wandered all over the map, from podcasting to Second Life, where Rimington has set up a presence for the Foundation. He pointed out that CF sufferers have tremendous difficulty meeting face-to-face because of the risk of airborne infection. In Second Life, they can meet and share experiences and information without the risks associated with real-world meeting—a truly inspired use of Second Life. Neville and I are looking forward to interviewing Dave for For Immediate Release.
