LunchCast
Part of the workshop I’m conducting for Ragan, “Connecting with the Wired World,” addresses podcasting. After the lecture is over, we produce one. The gorup selects an interviewer and a theme. I turn give the interviewer my portable digital recorder and a dynamic microphone. After the interviewed are done, I transfer the WAV file to the laptop, fire up Audacity, and edit the show while explaining how Audacity works. The idea is to demonstrate how easy it is to record and edit a show.
This is the first effort. Vanessa McGrady from Southern California Edison turned out to be an adept interviewer. The theme: Where to have lunch in San Francisco. Three participants had suggestions. The whole 1.6-MB MP3 file runs about 3-1/2 minutes.
