FIR is in the sweet 16

As though there were a shortage of podcasting awards, regular FIR comment contributor and all around nice guy Kevin Behringer has added one. The entrants in the “Most Valuable Podcat” awards (MVP, get it?) appear to have been selected arbitrarily—they seem to be the shows that Kevin listens to along with suggestions he received—there are only 16 of them (out of tens of thousands), and they’ve been randomly paired against one another in an elimination round that mimics the NCAA basketball championship’s Sweet 16.

Like I care about details. I want to win, dammit.

It breaks my heart that, in this round, For Immediate Release is up against The Engaging Brand, since I was just interviewed on Sunday by Brand’s engaging host, Anna Farmery. But this is the rough-and-tumble world of competition, baby, and Neville and I will steamroll over whoever stands in our way on the road to ultimate victory in a, um, meaningless competition most people will, er,  never hear of.

So go! Vote for FIR (and seven other shows, I really don’t care which). If we win, Neville’s hosting a victory party for everybody at his house.

  • 1.A victory party at my house? Absolutely - at my new one in Second Life, of course.

    Free virtual beers :)

  • 2.Hey no worries success for me was being mentioned along with FIR! The irony about interviewing you - puts a whole new concept on keeping your friends close and enemies even closer.
