Conference calls on your iPod, Part II

About a month ago, I suggested that podcasting would be a great way for companies to distribute audio files of their quarterly conference calls. Last night I was listening to a podcast of a session on podcasting from BloggerCon. One of the participants who spoke was Keith Teare. While many of the speakers considered podcasting the opportunity to do something personal and non-traditional, Teare noted that he had started EarningsCast, a site that delivers podcasts of conference calls from a few major high-tech players. “For now it isn?t going to be comprehensive of all earnings,” Teare writes, “just key ones each quarter.” Teare asks for a voluntary $9.95 monthly contribution to keep EarningsCast going and expanding.

If it does grow, your company’s or client’s conference calls could wind up there. So why not make the calls available as a podcast directly from the company’s site?
