Queen of the Sky posts a “Blogger’s Bill of Rights”
Ellen Simonetti isn’t just sitting around lamenting the fact that Delta Air Lines fired her for offending management with some mildly provocative photos of her in her flight attendant uniform posted to her blog. She continues to write, focusing some of her postings on “blogophobic” companies, noting that bloggers could blacklist companies who don’t get their blogging act together.
According to Frank Barnako’s column, Simonetti has crafted a “Blogger’s International Bill of Rights.”
It provides that Webloggers have the “freedom to blog, freedom from persecution and retaliation because of our blogs.” About 30 Webloggers have signed on, supporting the call for employers to “establish clear-cut blogging policies.”
Simonetti asserts that 28 companies qualify as blogophpobic, having “fired, threatened, disciplined, fined or not hired people because of their blogs.”
The bill of rights—to which 30 bloggers have signed on—is at rights.journalspace.com.
