Blogs instead of FAQs?
Michael Schrage thinks blogging software has potential beyond their currently uses. For example, “I think that blogs and wikis, if they???re done with craft and care, will supersede FAQs and traditional documention,” according to the co-director of MIT Media Labs co-director of eMarkets Initiative. The end result: faster application deployment.
Scharge is quoted in ADTMag (ADT: Application Development Tools), which also cites David Via, an analyst with Ferris Research, who thinks “someone significant” has to get into the blog software business before blogs can reach their potential. Both experts tout the knowledge management aspects of blogs and wikis in the workplace.
“Maybe this is where knowledge management wins,” Schrage figures. “Maybe the knowledge management people come back by declaring blogs and wikis knowledge management.”
