Ford’s social media release
How’d I miss this? Ford Motor Company has issued a social media release about its 2008 Focus. Ford is one of the largest companies to adopt the format. The release features a fact list, video (on YouTube), photos (on Flickr), and quotes from Ford executives, along with links, a PDF fact sheet, tags, and an RSS feed. As with most social media releases, it’s missing a few of the suggested elements (like a purpose-built del.icio.us bucket), but the mere fact that a company of Ford’s stature (even in its current tarnished state) is a big deal.
I read about the release in an InfoWorld story about the social media release. I learned about the InfoWorld story in a Twitter tweet from Todd Defren. Amazing how these things work.
