Intranet cited in “best company” listings
The rankings of the best companies in the US to work for are out, and improved internal communications is getting a nod as a characteristic of the winners. According to Investors Business Daily, improved communication between management and workers is a trend among organizations. As an example, IBD cites Genentech, where employees use the intranet to as questions of the company’s top executives, the CEO among them. Genentech ranked number four in the annual Fortune magazine ranking, behind Wegman’s (a grocery store chain where employees come first, customers second), W.L. Gore, and Republic Bancorp.
