I’m #2. I must try harder.
It’s been over a year since I bragged about taking the top spot among all speakers at the 2006 IABC conference. Alas, there shall be no repeat this year. I came in at number two among 70 speakers for my talk on “Edge Content and the Wisdom of Crowds.” I understand that top honors went to one of the post-conference speakers (who had 3-1/2 hours compared to the 75 minutes the rest of us had.
But I can live with #2. I just got the aggregated evaluation back from IABC, which includes written comments. These do my ego a world of good. For instance…
- This is the most exciting session I???ve attended! The most I can take back and share.
- This was one of the first sessions I???ve attended that gave practical tips on what I could do to take advantage of Web 2.0.
- Shel never ceases to amaze me with his savvy grasp of the latest trends. He always makes it meaningful and applicable to what we do in communication.
It was a fun session and it was a terrific conference. My thanks to everyone who attended my session and completed the evaluation card.
