Positive outcomes at the Rubel geek dinner

I’m just back from Steve Rubel‘s geek dinner in San Francisco. Yesterday, I was Skype messaging with Jeremy Pepper, suggesting he drop by since he now works here. “Maybe I will,” he mused. And, indeed, he did. And, as God as my witness, Steve and Jeremy chatted like old friends. Then, together, they approached me and told me they were giving me the scoop. Me Just a little nobody gets to break the news that Steve and Jeremy have buried the hatchet.

I know what you’re thinking. No, I don’t mean Jeremy buried a hatchet in Steve’s skull. And April 1 is long past. Steve and Jeremy are getting along. “I’ll still disagree with what you write,” Jeremy told Steve, to which Steve answered, “Of course!” But it’ll all be very…well…nice.

A little bite has gone out of the PR blogosphere. Civility reigns, and all is right with the world.

Incidentally, a lot of other great people were there and I had a blast, not to mention some excellent tapas. Can’t wait to do it again the next time Steve is out on the Left Coast.

    Glad there was no hatchet throwing about or other nonsense. Just shows how mature us bloggers really are.

    how fun to meet you at the geek dinner... you kept the conversation crackling from the get-go and have many opportunities coming your doorstep after all the trailblazing work you've been doing.. that even a non-geek nobody can appreciate. Thanks for the ideas.
    I'd like to see you interviewed for some of the Primedia journalists to share your ideas with the meetings industry.. Betsy Bair, Sue Pelletier face2face blog etc. ... who knows? we may fidn a mutually-benefical SmartPartnership in that niche
