Intranet project blog presentation
Michael Angeles was supposed to make a presentation on intranet-based project-focused blogs at an intranet/wiki conference slated for Miami next month. The conference was cancelled, so Angeles, a Lucent Technologies IT staffer, posted the presentation as a 777 KB Acrobat PDF file. The presentation covers a lot of ground that can be useful to others planning to pitch internal blogs in their organizations.
Angeles claims intranet blogs—he calls them KM blogs—solve a variety of communication and knowledge-sharing problems that arise in typical projects, including minimizing gaps in understanding, keeping people up to date on project status, and establishing an organizational memory about the project. He recommends both an elevator pitch and a more detailed proposal for intranet blogs, and offers advice on how to introduce blogs to projects. The presentation includes a couple screen shots from Lucent blogs.
